What is IN-RICHES?
IN-RICHES is the Integrated Rocky Mountain-region Innovation Center for Healthy Soils. We believe soil health innovation and system-level change start with transdisciplinary engagement amongst researchers, policy makers, and community members.

Why soil health?
Soil health is foundational to ecosystem function, human health, and food security, particularly in the water-limited Rocky Mountain region. Additionally, soil health plays a key role in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
What we do.
We integrate science, policy, and community initiatives to advance innovative soil health solutions in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.

1. Community engaged research to advance a holistic understanding of soil health and regenerative transitions.

We measure soil health on farms and ranches across the region.
Colorado Soil Health Inventory is an interactive map showcasing farms and ranches participating in collaborative soil health research across Colorado and the broader Rocky Mountain region. Each point on the map represents a working agricultural operation where conservation data has been collected, including details on cropping systems, irrigation types, and soil health principles in use.
